Russian Jersey Contest - Ends 4/10

Postby KP14 on Mar 11th, '08

Here's one to inspire some people and get those of you who are making jerseys going.

Simple rules here:
1. Pick a player currently in the NHL and recreate a jersey from when they played in Russia. Plenty to pick from here and scouting around the internet will bring up some good images to go by.
2. Post your finished jersey along with a link to the original.

Example:

The original

Profile trophy to the winner and the best jerseys will be added to the database.

Nice Scooter. You certainly were fast out of the gate! I'll get those into the database for the Gonchar fans out there.

You have to love the Russian teams that have Traktor in the name, that is about as tough as it gets. Sharks are one thing, a tractor factory is another.

I did the same thing. I think I had it spelled "Federov" in a number of places for some reason before I fixed them all.

Jesus, lol. Scooter doesn't mess around does he? lol. Very nice job on what looks like a difficult jersey. If I only knew how to use that damn pen tool better. Side note.. how are you getting the Russian font? Side note #2.. I wish I had time at work to do that.. they hiring where your at? lol.

For the Russian font in Illustrator use the Glyphs window using Helvetica. All of the Cyrillic letters are there, use it like an onscreen keyboard. At the moment that is the best solution I was able to come up with.

As for the pen tool...I wish I had an easy explanation. Just a matter of getting used to it as compared to Photoshop. Of course one could always do the graphics in Photoshop and import them into Illustrator.
